Tomorrow, March 25, starting at 6am EDST, local college radio station WUMB is doing A Day Of Dylan. Listen online as they celebrate 'the 20th century's most prolific songwriter.' (Maybe they'll find time to explain their definition of 'prolific'.)

There's also a remastered Basement Tapes coming out... And the classic Dylan & the Dead album as well. I think I'd rather have a remastered verison of Self Portrait.

Tonight I bought my first issue of Rolling Stone since, well, since whenever P.J. O'Rourke last wrote for them about a decade ago. I bought it just because there's a looong (seven full pages, no ads) Dylan interview with historian Douglas Brinkley.

I bought the delux edition but haven't watched the interview disc yet or litened to the "Dylan Hour" CD yet.

"Love and Theft" and "Time Out of Mind" are gems in my opinion.

"Love and Theft" and "Time Out of Mind" are gems in my opinion. You should like the new one then. I think there are some really good songs on it, and the whole album has a kind of loose, fun 'basement tapes' feel to it, despite the dark nature of some of the lyrics. I note he debuted a song last night in Dublin, 'If You Ever Go To Houston'. Extraordinary that it's his first #1 album since 1970, though.
