I won't feel comfortable doing so until someone gets a horizontal layer of slats to make her cage secure.

Ha! I've been calling him Nicky-knacky-paddy-wacky. Just kill me now. Also, in a few weeks when she's old enough to leave her litter, we'll be joined by Puppy Georgia the shih tzu. Nicky cracked corn and I don't care

Can anybody explain to me why it is that the higher quality the dog food is, the less my dog likes it? Are all dogs like this? I know for a fact that Beneful is total crap with no redemming nutritional value at all, yet I've never heard of a dog that doesn't love it. I got a bag of Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, and she doesn't like that any better than she did Natural Balance. Now I always have to stir canned food in with the dry food to get her to eat it. I don't get it. I thought better quality food with better ingredients would taste better. Then again, Biscuit's favorite treat in the world is the "Scooby snacks" she manages to sneak out of the cat's litter box. Do I have to find a food that literally tastes like shit in order to get her to enjoy eating again?

Why do most people like Big Macs more than tofu? The cheap-ass crap has lots of salt and artificial flavoring that makes it appealing to the taste buds.
As for getting Biscuit to eat it, you're aware that she's playing you, right? If you immediately reward her with canned food when she turns up her nose at the kibble, of course she'll refuse to eat it plain. Let her pick at it for a few meals. She'll eat when she gets hungry, or if she goes several days and consistently refuses to eat much, then yeah, get her a different brand.
Also, I'm assuming you're making the changeover gradually rather than all at once, which could upset her system enough to make her skip meals.
Nicky's breeder was feeding the pups kibble mixed with some canned puppy food, and I gradually reduced it until now he's on plain kibble, and for the moment, he's eating only about half of what he was shoveling down before -- and giving me these sad "where's my canned food, bitch?" looks. If I mixed in just a teaspoonful of canned food, he'd clean his plate like a longshoreman, but I've got to wait him out, or else I create a picky, demanding monster who calls the shots . . . and then I've got to give him canned+dry forever and also a little spoonful to all the other dogs so as not to show favoritism.
