Hey...what's this all about? Is Robbie going to be performing the works of Alex C. and Big Star? Sounds interesting.

I'm hoping that Dinner For Schmucks will still be playing at the Big Picture in Waitsfield on Friday, if only for the obligatory joke about Music For Schmucks.

Yes.
It was cool, both the shows and the weather. You had the all-in-one restaurant, movie theater, and performance space for the solo show. And the world's smallest festival or the world's biggest house concert for the band performance. The owner of the house was the Valley Stage promoter, Don Sheldon. Both shows were all I'd hoped for - except for the lack of Gerald drumming (and thus, no "Thirteen"). After seeing about 4 Robbie shows in the last few years at Barbes, all but one with Jenny Scheinman, these shows were like comfort food. Not much I hadn't seen before aside from the Michael Jackson songs and "Wedding of the Bugs" but all great fun.
It was great hanging out with the Constance Sorrow and the man of, Miz Tara, and chatting with Peigi and Spousezilla during the Saturday show and Robbie and Don Sheldon after the Friday show. If they do it again, I'd go despite the drive. If enough people go, they'll need to get four port-o-sans instead of the three they had.

Some new dates, including right here in the Bull City next month. Another Gjersoe duo. Despairing of ever seeing him with the band...

The Gjersoe duo will be hitting NYC on the 31st. I'll be there with a posse of friends, the 7:30 start time appears to be nearly as much of a draw as the music.

I wish those bastards would check with my schedule before booking NYC gigs. I'm going to be on the Canadian border snowmobiling that day.
Actually, it's probably the case that they DID check my schedule. Bastards.

I think Passim's should have RF back. Like maybe next week. I could use the internal sunshine.
We have run out of places to shovel the snow. In the melt today we've had water coming into the basement, and, I'm not kidding, how's our ice, you ask? The Jeep slid ITSELF 15 feet down the drive (unoccupied).
I think I'd even sit through 15 more minutes of "I Wanna Be Mama'd." AND "On the Corner of I Love and You."
