Just heard this and thought I'd share:
What's the difference between The Rolling Stones and a Scotsman?
One says, "Hey, you, get off of my cloud", and the other says, "Hey, McCloud, get off of my ewe."

Baseball season ended today with a gruesome loss by the Red Sox, and the Patriots lost in overtime. It was a Black Sunday...but at least there was one victory to lift my spirits: US beats Scotland to win oat cuisine titleUSA! USA! USA! (I happen to have a sack of Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal in my kitchen right now.)

I'm not sure the US's growing prominence in porridge-making is a good economic indicator. In other news: American soup lines voted "Mmm, mmm good" by independent panel

Some exciting coverage of the American triumph in the 16th Annual Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship. The piece includes an amusingly complicated prize-winning recipe. (Yes, if a recipe, especially an oatmeal recipe, calls for two separate applications of fire, then I think it's complicated.)

I can't figure out how it works, let alone solve one of the buggars. How are the outer pieces connected if they move independantly from everything else?

That Scottish kid is pretty good, but can he "do the cube" WHILE PLUMMETING TO EARTH? (the plummeter happens to be the nephew of a college roommate of mine)

That story could only be better if there was also skydiving involved. And nice touch that the (world's worst) lesbian's lawyer is named Nigel Bruce
