Sorry Robbie, ain't making the trip to Charlotte for another duo show. And I'll be in the Johnson City area a couple of weeks too late. Marianne couldn't tempt you into coming back to Raleigh this year?

JL is just a jerk if she misses the Grand Rapids show.

JL is just a jerk if she misses the Grand Rapids show. Full band and everything. I'd make the Charlotte trip if he were bringing the band.

JL is just a jerk if she misses the Grand Rapids show. I think everyone would agree that I'm a jerk regardless. Anyhow, Thursday night is more doable than Tuesday (doggy school) but still difficult.

Maybe Ryan can go. He probably doesn't have a ten hour day ahead of him tomorrow. I think Uncle Grumpas has done Mondays there before. He's on before (or is it after) the poetry slam. Sometimes I feel bad about being such an asshole to him.

A secondary benefit to attending the Sarah Borges show at The Livery tonight was finding out that Robbie will be appearing there, in bucolic Benton Harbor, on February 13. liverybrew.com/calendar/2010/2/

I like the Livery. Pool table in the basement. Good brewmaster. Was talking to a woman there about her husband losing his virginity in Michigan and his emotional attachment to and subsequent financial investment in the particular municipality where it occurred.
I got excited and thought I could sneak out of Klondike camp and go see a Robbie show, but alas Klondike camp is not at Warren Dunes it's at Indiana Dunes and it's not even the same weekend. So what, I still might go. Have a romantic type weekend in Sawyer or thereabouts--local wine, flowers, mints on the pillow. Or better yet get some Thunderbird and stay in somebody's moldy rental house and be surrounded by copulating mice. Yeah, that's romance. Wait for him to fall asleep and then drive through the snow to a show in Benton Harbor. I had better pack my best underwear for that one.

Wait for him to fall asleep and then drive through the snow to a show in Benton Harbor. You've got your work cut out for you. Pretty sure that he said it would be a 3 p.m. start time.

Otherwise I won't be there. I'm trying to send my older brother in my stead. He says the Livery sucks. I said Robbie plays even better than usual in places that suck. I don't know why he thinks it sucks; he's not an elbow-patch wearing NPR type at all. He has the heads of African Big Game animals he personally deaded on his dining room walls. Maybe the beer is not up to his standards.

Woo hooooo! Robbie will be at the beautiful, smoke-free Off Broadway in St. Louis on Thursday, April 15th. Looks like a solo or Robbiex2 show, the cover is just $10. It's early, 7:30 start time, as part of their new "After Dinner Drinks" series.

Excellent! I pray they don't have the usual double opening act snoozefest.
The seated show will wreak havoc on Beatle Bob.
