Next season, if and when the Twins are in the playoffs they won't have the Metrodome to protect them from the elements. and it doing an awful lot of raining in these here parts.

Saw my first snowflakes of the season this weekend up in cottage country. Not cold enough for them to stay but cold enough for snowflakes nevertheless.

We got a foot and a half of snow last night and this morning. Woo hoo! It's almost winter! I had lunch here in July. I was in shorts.

As the song says, "Tonight, thank God it's them instead of you." A Bono-fied response.

a little windy around these parts. As long as my DirecTV doesn't go out before this end of this game, I will be okay.

So up here in the Great White North (or Toronto) there's no snow at all ... coldish but just rain and dampness ... meanwhile I'm hearing about blizzards down in Texas and Florida ... this could just be Mother Nature having a lark at the snowbirds expense. Imagine spending a bankroll to escape Winter and relocating so you're right on its doorstep. Looks good on 'em.

We live in New England. The local school boards commanded early closures of schools today due to impending snow.
The forecast is for 1" - 2" by this afternoon.
I can only conclude that they've been hypnotized by reports from other regions. Idiots.

From the National Weather Service's weather statement for Baltimore, MD:
PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED NOT TO PANIC... BUT TO SIMPLY STAY INSIDE... ENJOY YOUR FAVORITE INDOOR ACTIVITIES... AND RIDE THIS STORM OUT... THE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS WILL BE IMPROVING LATER THIS EVENING.
